New Year’s Eve & Dreams Realized
BECOME YOUR DREAM. For those of you who don’t follow me on Twitter or haven’t read my previous blog, this has been a life mantra of mine since last February, when Courtesan Studio participated in our first New York Fashion Week. I saw this same street tag almost 10 times that morning. Definitely not a coincidence, and it became a mantra I repeat to myself regularly.
New Year’s Eve is hands down my FAVORITE holiday. It has so many components that I love in life: champagne, fireworks, party favors, glamorous apparel, kisses at midnight, fresh starts, sparkles galore and inklings of dreams to come true.
This is an especially glamorous NYE for me because I’m yachting around St. Bath’s on a dream-come-true excursion. You can bet I’ve been styling my resort apparel and Agent Provocateur bikinis with Courtesan Studio tiara combs (as pretty in sea air hair as in perfect city coifs) and Safari Collection strands & hoops. While I’m delighted to think of the amazing possibilities 2012 will bring, I’m taking a minute to luxuriate in the monumental progress made in 2011 towards dreams realized, personally & professionally.
What a tremendous year for Courtesan Studio! While it has been an uphill climb full of detours, I’m in awe of how many amazing milestones we achieved. How many designers sell in two dozen venues nationwide, see their pieces on the runway, in print, and on celebrities, meet with their top choice retail buyers and CEO’s of major red carpet brands their first year in business? Not many.
I find myself thinking about this:
“devote yourself to an idea. go make it happen. struggle on it. overcome your fears. smile. don’t forget: this is your dream.”
BECOME YOUR DREAM. It’s an amazing process.
